I'm not really sure what to write about myself. I'm a talker, love to talk...some might say I have the gift of gab. Writing, not so much. It really stresses me out to write, I struggle with it. But, here goes...my name is Lisa and I'm a natural redhead (heart of fire). I am originally from Cincinnati, Ohio and now live in California. I have a terrific son, Nathan (28yrs) and a smoking hot husband David.
I could literally swim before I could walk. I have always had a love affair with the water. When I was a little girl dreaming about my adult life I would tell my mom how I was going to live on a house boat and travel. I was on a swim team from the age of 5 until 14. At the age of 12 I was training for the junior Olympics...so yep, I love the water.
I have had many careers. I am what you call an experiencer, which fits the military lifestyle perfectly. This means I am a jack of all trades and master of none. I have 3 degrees; business administration, human services and dental sciences. I have worked retail, social services and now the dental field. I am a board certified dental assistant but I tell anyone who will listen that I'm almost like a doctor. I am hoping the medical and dental skills I have acquired will come in handy on the boat.
Fast forward to adult life...6 years away from retiring from the military. Being a military spouse (for those of you that know anything about this life) would agree...I'm in the military too. Anyway, anyhow, anyhoo, retiring...big plans, buy a boat and sail away with the love of my life David AND get this adventure started.
I have completed ASA 101, ASA 103, ASA 104, ASA 105, ASA 106, and ASA 114. I am also a 50GRT USCG Captain with a Sailing and Towing Endorsement. I have Basic Marine Firefighting, Maritime Security Awareness, STCW Basic First Aid, STCW PSSR, and STCW PST. I have graduated the Chapman School of Seamanship Professional Mariner Training.
