In the age of dudes wearing skinny jeans and doing more primping before they go out than women, I like to practice the art of manliness. This doesn't mean I walk around clubbing women over the head and dragging them back to my cave. It just means I try to practice all the things that make a great American man; from being able to move heavy things from here to there to being self sufficient. The following article just happens to relate even more than usual to my other passion of sailing. The correct knot can be very helpful in every man's life from fishing for your fresh dinner to rappelling down the gorge to go fishing or simply securing something in your truck. I know you have a truck because, well you're a man.
I almost always utilize most of these knots during one weekend of sailing in securing fenders, as stoppers for sheets, or stringing pirates up by their feet. Perhaps I haven't had much need for the last one, but you have to stay proficient for any of those situations.
If you can't tie any of these don't worry. "If you can't tie a knot, tie a lot". I'll be sure to laugh and point the next time I walk by your boat.
